Beginning November 1, 2023, all employers must use the recently revised Form I-9. The I-9 form is used to verify the identity and authorization for employment. It serves as proof that employers have verified the eligibility of individuals to work legally in the country. The biggest change with the new Form I-9 is allowing employers enrolled in E-Verify to virtually examine identity and employment authorization documents, instead of reviewing documents in person. To participate in the remote examination, employers must be enrolled in E-Verify and be in good standing.
