Thanksgiving is a special time of year when we get to come together to eat, watch football, and eat again.  Before any food comas, let’s remember what this holiday is about.  What makes your heart thankful?  Look at the big picture, and remember the hurricanes, wildfires, earthquakes, and violence that have rocked so many lives this year, not to mention the personal sorrows that never make the news.  In the scheme of things, most of us have so much to be grateful for.  What’s on your Thankful List?  Come on, we make a Christmas Want List; why not a list of what we already have that is so good?  Maybe family, friends, the dog, health, job, home, warm clothes, food in the fridge…. Once you start, it is easy to appreciate the things we so often take for granted.  There’s no perfect list – and there is no perfect Norman Rockwell-esque Thanksgiving, for that matter – so just open your heart and let the Thankfulness flow!

Whether you are thankful for a place, a person, a pet, or some good old pumpkin pie, make sure you share your joy with others.  Throughout the year, let’s strive to be worthy to be on someone else’s Thankful List – for our positive attitude, kindness, helpfulness, sincerity, and more.  Let’s live each day with thankfulness and purpose.  If we each gave thanks everyday to be alive and full of the opportunity to share love, the world would be a whole lot brighter.

Wishing you a safe, happy and blessed Thanksgiving! Whether you are visiting those you love over Skype or gathering around the dinner table, enjoy your turkey, football and thankfulness!
